Subtitles are processed 100% locally in your browser. No files are uploaded to any server.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Upload or Paste SRT Subtitle File

Paste your `.srt` subtitle file content or upload the subtitle file directly into the workspace.

2

Specify Time Offset (Delay or Advance)

Enter the time offset in milliseconds or seconds. Use positive values to delay subtitles (shift forward) or negative values to advance subtitles (shift backward).

3

Apply Synchronized Time Shift

The tool recalculates every subtitle timestamp (`HH:MM:SS,mmm --> HH:MM:SS,mmm`) accurately while preserving subtitle text and sequence numbers.

4

Download or Copy Synchronized SRT

Download the synchronized `.srt` file or copy the adjusted subtitle content to load into VLC, Premiere Pro, or YouTube Studio.

Key Features & Capabilities

  • Precision millisecond-accurate timestamp shifting conforming to official SubRip (`.srt`) timing standards (`HH:MM:SS,mmm`)
  • Bidirectional time shifting: positive offsets to delay subtitles or negative offsets to speed up early audio desyncs
  • Boundary protection: automatically clamps timestamps to `00:00:00,000` to prevent invalid negative subtitle start times
  • Full preservation of subtitle indices, multiline dialogue breaks, italic tags (`<i>...</i>`), and styling markup
  • High performance JavaScript parser processing 2-hour movie subtitle files in milliseconds
  • 100% private in-browser subtitle processing: your video scripts and private subtitles are never uploaded to any server

Frequently Asked Questions

What timestamp format does the SubRip (.srt) subtitle standard require?

SubRip (.srt) files require timestamps formatted as `hours:minutes:seconds, milliseconds --> hours:minutes:seconds, milliseconds` (e.g. `00:01:25,400 --> 00:01:28,950`), where hours, minutes, and seconds are two digits and milliseconds are three digits separated by a comma.

How do I fix subtitles that appear before or after the video audio?

If the subtitles appear 2 seconds before the character speaks, enter `+2000` milliseconds (or `+2.0` seconds) to delay them. If the subtitles appear 1.5 seconds late, enter `-1500` milliseconds (or `-1.5` seconds) to advance them.

What happens if a negative time shift pushes the first subtitle below zero seconds?

Our parser includes automatic zero-floor clamping. Any timestamp that would mathematically result in a negative time is safely clamped to `00:00:00,000` to ensure video players like VLC and QuickTime do not reject the SRT file.

Can I use the shifted SRT file in video editors like Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve?

Yes. The output is a standard, fully compliant UTF-8 SubRip `.srt` file ready for import into Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, YouTube Subtitle Manager, and media players.
